Long Furlong Barn

We were really excited to play for Rachel and Luke at Long Furlong Barn in West Sussex on the 30th August. We played three songs during their ceremony: Higher Love - James Vincent McMorrow, Sway- Bic Runga and Cowboy Take Me Away - Dixie Chicks. The last song involved me passing a white cowboy hat to Luke on their way back down the aisle which was a lot of fun and really original! They are both huge country music fans so it only seemed right to pay tribute to it on their wedding day! The Dixie Chicks are one of my favourite bands too and all three song choices were right up my street. : )

We were very pleased to be featured on the Long Furlong Barn website here:

where you can see a few gorgeous pictures from the day!

We'll have some more pics to upload to the Gallery soon including all three of their ceremony tracks which we have recorded post-wedding especially for Luke and Rachel in our London studio.

A bit of Coldplay...

So after bookings took off this year, Dave and I decided to rehearse some brand new songs including the gorgeous Magic by Coldplay which is one of my favourite songs to come out of 2014 so far. The words are so simple but very apt and sum up nicely the sentiment of a wedding so it had to go in the set. I was messing around today (changing the key as it's a tad low in Chris Martin's key) and our literal 'Live Lounge' video was born. There's not much you can't do these days armed with an iPad and our trusty studio mic. It's our first video too so we decided to make it rather relaxed and informal. As always there's a hint of shaky egg otherwise it wouldn't be a Music by Kate and Dave special! We hope you like it, check it out on our 'Watch' page.
